End of year reflection …
We all do it. At the end of the year, we think back to our accomplishments, mistakes, the good times and the bad. What could we do better next year? How can we improve? Do we want to learn something new? Start a new business? It is a reflective time, but also the feeling of the possible clean slate is exciting.
For me - 2025 was exciting in many ways. I got married. Built a new building for my business and moved my business. Gained many new clients and friends (and family)! My middle child graduated from high school AND hair school. She started her career. My youngest taught me new hobbies - embroidery. My oldest son has gone full force into renovating “classic” cars (I still refuse to look at a 1990 something car a classic).
What was difficult. 45 was a turning point for me ..ahem… hormonally. Possibly the start of dare I say it, perimenopause. Good grief. At least that is what I assume this rollercoaster of a year, ups and downs with weight, mood swings (sorry, honey!), and all that seems to come along with that is from.
I have been reading books from what to expect - why isn’t this taught to us when we are young women?! What to do. How to healthily approach it, not just deal with it, but thrive during and through into the next stage of life. With hormone replacement in every persons medicine cabinet, botox appointments filling middle aged women’s calendars, and “biohacks” filling our inboxes … it is extreme. We live in an extreme information overload time and let me tell you - I am exhausted.
So, my goal for 2026 is to take the year to improve my health. Reconnect with God, spending more time in His word. Continue my education because I know that all I have gone through is so I can come through it stronger and help other women. I want to share all I have learned over the past 25 years and especially this year. I am excited to have you all along with me for this journey. Because I can’t do it alone. None of us can.
Coming into a new stage of life. A stage where we are nurturing ourselves. Building connections. Grounding. And becoming the best we can become! Cheers to all of you out there who are or have been down this path already.
